Larry Thomas Goudy
 

GOUDY, Larry T. – of Clio, age 68, died Friday, January 30, 2009 at Brian’s House, Davison. Memorial services will be 1 PM Tuesday, February 3, 2009 at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio, Rev. Jim Horn and Rev. Jeff Ralph officiating. Military honors will be conducted at 12:30 PM Tuesday by the Clio American Legion Post #158. Cremation has taken place.

Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 11 AM until time of services. Contributions in his memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation, Lyme Association, Clio Community Church of God or Brian’s House.

Larry was born January 18, 1941 in Ottumwa, IA to the late Curtis and Gladys (Hoadley) Goudy. He married Gail Carlyle on July 6, 1968 and lived in Clio the past 38 years. He served in the US Air Force in Vietnam. Mr. Goudy retired from Pontiac Power Train July 1, 2004 with 21 years of seniority. He was a member of Clio Community Church of God and the UAW.

He enjoyed being with his family and especially his sons during Boy Scouting events. Surviving are: wife Gail; 2 sons, Jeffrey (Julie) Goudy, Bill (Becki) Goudy; 1 granddaughter, Allison, all of Clio; brothers, Wilbur Goudy of Davison, Don Goudy of Houston, TX; sister-in-laws, Betty Goudy of Ottumwa, IA, Judy Carlyle, Sue (Bill) Schlink, Kathy (Randy) McKenzie; brother-in-laws, Ken Mullins of KY, Russ Carlyle, Paul (Melody) Carlyle; nieces and nephews. He was also=2 0preceded in death by a brother Ken Goudy; 2 sisters, Bev Mullins and Evelyn VanCleave; mother and father-in-law Bill and Mary Carlyle.
