March 26, 2013 Joyce Ullman Hodes, 71, FairfieldHODES, Joyce Sue Age 71, of Fairfield, passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2013. She was born on September 1, 1941 to the late Charles & Bessie (Barmash) Ullman in Ottumwa, IA. She married Herb Hodes on April 1, 1962. She loved playing Maj Jongg, spending time with her grandchildren, and traveling with her husband. Joyce enjoyed aerobic swimming at the YMCA in Fairfield, and could be found cooking and baking at the Beth Israel Synagogue Kitchen. She worked for many years at Truckway Leasing as an Administrative Assistant. Survivors include her loving husband Herbert Hodes; devoted children: Scott (Rochelle) Hodes and Michelle (Mike) Gips; beloved grandchildren: Zachary, Sara and Alex Hodes and Lauren & Ellie Gips; cherrished brothers: Bernie (Ella) and Stan (Paula) Ullman; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Friday, March 29, 2013 at the Colligan Funeral Home with Rabbi Eric Slaton officiating. Burial in Beth Israel Cemetery.
