OTTUMWA — Gary L. Martin, 67, of Casa Grande, Ariz. passed away Saturday, Dec. 6, 2008, at RTA Hospice House. Mr. Martin was born on June 13, 1941 in Ottumwa to Maxine E. (Collier) and Ralph K. Martin Sr. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Moose Lodge #1038, 14220 S. Calera Road, Arizona City, Ariz., on Friday, Dec. 19 at 6 p.m. A U.S. Navy veteran, Gary retired as a safety manager in the correctional system; he had also worked at Hecla mine for a number of years. Gary also loved being with family and friends, fishing with his grandsons, golf, riding his quad, playing drums, dancing and had a passion for gardening. He was also a Moose member since 1975 until his death. He is preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife, Claretta (Parcel) Martin; sons, Bryan L. Martin of Arizona City, Ariz. and Michael W. Martin of Tucson, Ariz.; brother, Ralph Martin, Jr. of Bellevue, Wash.; sister, Debbie Martin of Ottumwa. He is also survived by four grandsons.
