TO THE CLASS OF '59

Tonight's your night to shine
To brighten the way for those who hug their friends again
From their High School Days.
And then a chit-chat for kids and cats and other news as well.

Listen - -but do not tell, there goes the bell,
It's time for a change, a nudge here and a poke there,
Now the fun begins again
And extends to the evening's end.

Then, it's time to say Goodbye to those who are headed home.
God Bless them on their way until the next Reunion Day.

Myldred Wilson

Note: Mrs. Wilson wrote this poem for the Class of 1959 on the evening of October 9
after she got back home from having dinner with us at our Reunion. Due to an eye
problem, she lost her ability to read shortly before our 45th Class Reunion, but
she wrote this poem for all of us. She is now 98 years old and still lives by herself
in her own home. She is truly an amazing woman. I spent the afternoon with her a
few days ago - I played bridge with her Saturday afternoon bridge group. She is sad
that she can no longer drive. Her mind is as sharp as it was when she taught many
of us 45 years ago. She would love to hear from any of us who would want to write
to her or to call her.

Her address is 1222 East Fourth, Ottumwa, Iowa 52501.
Her telephone number is 641-682-0872.
